Required Documents for NPS to OPS conversion before the due date PDF

An Office Memorandum (OM) dated 20 March 2023 has been issued by the Central Public Works Department of the Government of India, which addresses the coverage of Central Government employees who were recruited before 22 December 2003 under the Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules. The OM includes a copy of the Department of Pension and Pensioner’s Welfare OM No.57/05/2021-P&PW(B) dated 03/03/23, and requests all eligible and willing officers (SE & above) to submit their option, if they desire, before the due date through their controlling officers. The controlling officers are also requested to forward options received with certified copies of certain information/documents.

Some Central Government Employees may have the option to replace National Pension System with Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Coverage under Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, in place of National Pension System, of those Central Government Employees who were recruited against the posts/ vacancies advertised/notified for recruitment, on or before 22/12/2003.

The undersigned is directed to enclose a copy of Department of Pension and Pensioner’s Welfare, OM No.57/05/2021-P&PW(B) dated 03/03/23 on the subject mentioned above and to request all the eligible/willing Officers (SE & above) to submit their option, if they desire, before due date through their controlling officers.

2) All respective controlling officers are requested to forward options received with certified copies of following information/documents:-

1. Date of notification of examination
2. Date of examination held
3. Date of interview
4. Date of final result
5. Vacancy year against which appointment has been done.
6. Offer of appointment letter.
7. Period of extension requested for joining, if any.
8. Date of appointment of officer
